There are in excess of 900 condominium and co-op units in Bala Cynwyd. They can be found at the Presidential Estates on Presidential Blvd, the Greenhouse on Rock Hill Rd, the Corinthian also on Presidential Blvd, the Fairmont on Conshohocken State Rd, Sutton Terrace on Belmont Ave and Trianon on Conshohocken State Rd. All of these buildings were converted from apartments to condos or co-op units except the Corinthian which was built as a condominium building. All of the buildings are close to the Expressway, route 76, and East and West River Drive, providing easy access to all Philadelphia has to offer. Units range in size from efficiencies to 3 bedrooms/3 baths and in price from $70k to $850k and above.
These properties lie on both sides of Montgomery Avenue and Conshohocken State Rd, bordered by the Schuykill river, starting several blocks east of City Line Avenue, route 1. The architecture is mostly colonial and many homes feature stone common to this area. There are 3 to 4 bedroom homes that range in price from $150k up to $500k on quarter acre lots or less. There are also some larger homes having 4, 5 or more bedrooms that go up to $850k in price. There is no new construction to speak of in Bala Cynwyd. In 2014 only 1 sold home was new.
Bala Cynwyd borders Phildelphia. The separating line is City Avenue. The center of the town is on Montgomery Avenue, unlike other most other Main Line towns which lie on route 30.
