Main Line Townhouses

Search Main Line townhouse listings below! I define townhouse as a residential unit sharing at least one common wall with a neighboring home. It could be a row house or a twin. Townhouse is really a synonym for row house and townhome. Unforunately, there is no common term for all homes that have at least one common wall with a neighbor. Therefore, I'm using townhouse as the best alternative. The detailed listings call out whether a property is a row house or twin.

Many on the Main Line and elsewhere are purchasing townhouses because they provide:

  • A lower purchase price than a similar detached home. A careful analysis is needed to understand the true cost of a townhouse with a home owners association (HOA)
  • Generally, quick access to local transportation, shops, restaurants and other facilities.
  • Some outdoor space for pets and entertaining
  • More privacy than a similar condominium
  • Depending on the type of HOA, freedom from lawncare, snow removal and exterior maintenance of he property. The HOA fee removes anxiety over high-cost exterior repairs such as replacing the roof, windows, etc. It's very important to know what is included in the HOA fee.
  • In some cases, attractive amenities such as a community swimming pool, clubhouse, walking trails, etc.
